The roguelike might one of the most popular genres on mobile, with entries from Hoplite and Sproggiwood to 868-Hack. Dungeon Tails is the latest to grace iOS, bringing a colorful and surprisingly fast-paced roguelike to the platform.

While Dungeon Tails may bring to mind Sproggiwood's bright charming style, you'll find the roguelike action here to be a different beast. Instead of the usual turn-based approach, Dungeon Tails is real-time, challenging you to dodge attacks and time your blows precisely. Enemy's attacks are telegraphed and their range displayed, giving combat an skillful arcade-game vibe, especially in the more difficult stages.

As you descend to deeper levels, find more gold and defeat bosses, your hero will unlock powerful new weapons, magic, and upgrades, granting you the means to unleash fireballs or rain down ice shards.

Those upgrades will be available in the hub area's shop once unlocked, providing persistent progress across playthroughs.

Dungeon Tails can be purchased for £3.99 / $3.99 on the App Store.
